LED products photoelectric performance test standards

There are five LED optical product test standards, which are electrical characteristics, optical characteristics, switching characteristics, color characteristics, and thermal characteristics.

Electrical characteristics: The electrical parameters of the LED include forward current, forward voltage, reverse current, and reverse voltage. This test is generally performed using a voltage and current meter, under constant current and constant voltage source power supply conditions. The maximum allowable forward voltage, forward current and reverse voltage, and current are obtained through the test of the electrical characteristics of the LED. In addition, the best working electrical power value of the LED can also be obtained.

Optical characteristics:
mainly include luminous flux and luminous efficiency, light intensity and light intensity distribution characteristics, and spectral parameters.

Luminous flux and light efficiency: There are usually two methods, the integrating sphere method and the goniophotometer method. Although the latter's test results are the most accurate, they are generally used because they take a long time. When testing with the integrating sphere method, the LED to be tested can be placed on the center of the sphere or on the wall of the sphere. Measured luminous flux, with the electrical parameter tester can measure the luminous efficiency of the LED, that is, light efficiency.

Light intensity and light intensity distribution characteristics: LED light intensity distribution is inconsistent, so its test results vary with the test distance and the size of the detector aperture, allowing each LED under the same conditions for light intensity testing and evaluation. This result is more accurate.

Spectral parameters: mainly include peak emission wavelength, spectral radiation bandwidth, and spectral power distribution. The spectral characteristics of the LED can be represented by the spectral power distribution. Through the spectral power distribution, the chromaticity parameters can also be obtained. The measurement of the general spectral power distribution needs to be performed by splitting light, and the monochromatic light in the mixed light is distinguished one by one for measurement. The prism and the grating can be used to achieve the light splitting.
