German automotive industry data and forecasting company BDW Automotive recently stated that the share of new energy vehicles (mainly including electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles) in the German automotive market will increase to 11.5% in 2015, with sales reaching 430,000 vehicles.
It is understood that in 2010, sales of new energy vehicles in the German market were 25,000, with a market share of only 0.9%. BDW Automotive stated that by 2022, the market share of traditional power cars will shrink from 99.1% last year to 72.6%.
BDW Automotive anticipates that hybrid vehicles will account for more than 50% of the sales of new energy vehicles in 2015, compared with about 20% for pure electric vehicles.
In addition, BDW Automotive also stated that Volkswagen will remain the leader in the German automotive market in 2015, including the traditional automotive market and new energy automotive market segments.
