Mr. Zhu felt that the lock was awkward when his key could actually open two doors of his neighbor ’s house. He immediately contacted Ms. Wang of the community owner committee. Ms. Wang took Mr. Zhu's key and tried door-to-door, and several doors were opened. Later, other residents have discovered that the door keys in their hands can also open the door of the neighbor's house.

After the final confirmation, a total of 55 households with the same door lock were installed in the community, and the door keys in each household's hands became "master keys" that could open the 55 doors.

Patrol 8 times a night after finding the problem

"As long as a key, anyone can enter the homes of all owners without effort, which makes me very worried." Ms. Wang told reporters, "Our community is relatively small, there is no security guard, in case someone accidentally loses the key As soon as the news leaked out, our lives and property safety were not guaranteed. So, after discovering the problem, I immediately notified all informed owners of strict confidentiality, and also contacted several other members of the owner ’s committee to strengthen the night patrol of the community. One night, I went out to patrol 8 times by myself, and came out every hour almost every hour, for fear of something going wrong. "

On the night when a problem with the anti-theft door lock was discovered, Ms. Wang found that the manufacturer of the anti-theft door was Hangzhou Bonde Anti-theft Door Factory. Early the next morning, she immediately contacted the distributor in the Tongxiang area of ​​the plant. The dealer stated that these locks have passed the warranty period and cannot be guaranteed: if they come to replace the lock core, they will charge 30 yuan per set; if they want to change the lock, they will charge 70 yuan. This attitude of the dealer immediately aroused strong dissatisfaction of the owners, and the two sides once stalemate.

On Tuesday, the reporter interviewed Xu Manager of the sales department of Hangzhou Bonde Security Door Factory, which provided security doors for Nanfang Building. He told reporters: "We have learned about the problems with magnetic locks and have formulated a policy to change the locks for all users for free." According to Manager Xu, from 2000 to 2002, the sales of this magnetic lock were very good, almost all Anti-theft door companies have all used it; and after they discovered the problem, they stopped using the lock in 2004.

The reporter also contacted several other well-known anti-theft door manufacturers.

But in the past few years, most companies have not realized the potential product defects. We have experimented with a batch of magnetic lock samples. It was found that the mutual opening rate reached a maximum of 50%; according to national standards, the mutual opening rate of locks must be controlled within 0.1%. "

The industry and commerce determined that the magnetic lock is defective

Due to the unsuccessful coordination, Mr. Zhu, a resident of the community, together with the owners' committee, filed a complaint with the Tongxiang City Industrial and Commercial Bureau on the "3.15 Consumer Rights Day" this year.

After on-site investigation by industrial and commercial personnel, the magnetic locks used in the community were very popular in the past few years. The key is not like a normal key, but has a cylindrical shape. There are five or six small rings that can be turned at the front end. The positive and negative magnetic poles are used to achieve the purpose of locking the door. According to analysis by professional locksmiths, after the magnetic lock is used for 3 to 5 years, the magnetic properties of the lock naturally decrease or disappear, and the same type of key may open this lock.

Industrial and commercial personnel believe that although the lock used in the Nanfang Building District has exceeded the warranty period, there are obviously product defects that may endanger the safety of users and property. For this reason, the industrial and commercial department believes that the manufacturer of the anti-theft door is obliged to replace the tamper-proof lock without quality defects for all consumers; the anti-theft door manufacturer can recover the cost from the lock factory.

Industry and commerce personnel also told reporters that the "Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China" stipulates: "If the product is defective and causes damage to other properties other than the person or the defective product, the producer shall be liable for compensation." In case of theft in the household, the manufacturer must also bear the corresponding compensation liability.

Subsequently, the industrial and commercial department directly contacted Bond manufacturers. After understanding the situation, the factory immediately agreed to replace all new locks for free as soon as possible. At present, all the new locks have been delivered to the Nanfang Building community, and 55 households who have been restless day and night have all replaced the new locks.
