According to the Russian TASS News Agency, the Russian Far Eastern Federal University will soon establish the Pacific Quantum Research Center, which will be devoted to the research of promising quantum materials, cosmic evolution issues and basic theories of drug research and development.
The Russian Ministry of Science and Education is expected to obtain 36 million rubles for the construction of the center every year. The funding period will be extended to 2023, and may be extended. The center will be transformed on the basis of the Biophotonics Research Center of the Federal University of the Far East. Scholars will study basic scientific theoretical issues by increasing the speed of their supercomputer calculations and digital twins. The theory will be used to study new functional materials, the original state of the universe and the development of new drugs.
The basic theoretical research of new materials includes the theoretical research of Dirac and Weir semimetal materials, and the basic theory of drug research and development includes the study of protein denaturation and protein folding in different media.
