Japan's Uniji can introduce high temperature aromatic polyamide

HC Plastics News:

Unitika, based in Osaka, Japan, has developed a range of polyamide (PA) resins that are said to be suitable for demanding thermal management applications. The company has tailored special grades for applications such as LED components and motor components, and thermal management is essential in the automotive and electrical/electronic industries. These grades are based on different polymer structures.

Unijike believes that hybrid and electric vehicles are a promising application for PA resins, as the demand for these two models is growing and many engines need to be enclosed in confined spaces. The motor itself has also become more compact, stimulating the need for more efficient thermal management solutions. In addition, replacing metal with plastic parts is a top priority for lightweighting. With the reduction of thermally conductive metal components, the performance requirements for engineering plastic composites are also increasing.

The thermally conductive PA series includes grades based on PA6, PA66 and aromatic PA. Uniji is selling its aromatic PA resin under the name XecoT. Each conductivity class contains a filler that does not unduly increase the density of the compound or impair its mechanical properties. Injection molding processing capability is also very good. For example, the thermally conductive PA6N1010RG has a flow length of 235 mm at 280 ° C and 150 MPa (test piece 1 mm thick). Unij can divide its products into electrical insulation and electrical conduction, which exhibit different degrees of thermal conductivity.

Elevator Door Modernization

Neglecting elevator door equipment jeopardizes riding public safety and increases owner liability. Modernizing elevator door equipment is important in making an older elevator system more reliable, safe, code compliant, efficient, and provides a more marketable appearance. This is particularly true with door operators. Door operators undergo tremendous wear and tear in daily operation. Each time the elevator stops, the door operators are activated at least two times, more frequently if occupants manually hold the doors open. Some elevator maintenance companies report that nearly 75 percent of their service calls are for malfunctioning door operators
