Curved thin-walled electrode numerical control machining process (3)

4. Sheet shape finishing

After the surface finishing, the thin-walled shape is finished. If the top surface is machined after the contour is processed, the thin-wall shape is too high, and the top of the copper electrode often deforms and bends under the cutting force of the tool, resulting in deformation and bending of the top of the copper electrode. Processing failure, which is also the most prone problem in sheet electrode processing. At the same time, due to the 5.0 mm narrow groove between the sheets, the sheet shape can only be processed with a tool having a smaller diameter. Therefore, take a 4.0mm diameter end mill with a speed of 2000r/min and a feed rate of νf=400mm/min. When machining the surface and reworking the electrode shape, pay attention to the depth of the undercut can not be too large, the tool diameter is small, and the clamping The length is longer (greater than the electrode height, 26.0mm). Therefore, it is easy to produce over-cutting; the amount of knives on each layer is only 0.4mm; and the speed and feed rate are higher to achieve a certain efficiency. The specific path parameter settings are shown in Figures 6 and 7.
