Shanghai, China, September 29, 2010 - SI Group announced plans to invest approximately US$30 million in the construction of a second plant in China. After evaluating the Asian market, the company believes it is necessary to expand its operations in China. The new plant is expected to have an initial capacity of 30,000 tons. The company will adopt a series of measures to achieve the goal of leading the Asian market, and investment in the new plant is one of the plans. The location for the construction of the new plant is still under evaluation, and SI Group will also invest $5 million to expand the production capacity of the Shanghai plant, which is an increase of 10,000 tons from the existing capacity. The second phase of the project was completed in December 2008. In order to achieve the goal of better serving the Asian market, SI Group will invest in the establishment of an application experiment center for phenolic resins in China. The research and technical staff of the experimental center are already undergoing training, and the experimental center is expected to start operation in March 2011. The establishment of an application test center and increased plant capacity will enable SI Group to respond to customer needs more quickly and accurately.
