Economic rebound boosts Wenzhou shoe industry's export growth

According to statistics, Wenzhou’s footwear exports totaled 81,000, 517 million, and 2.919 billion US dollars in the first three quarters of this year. The number of export batches and amounts was far above the level of the same period of last year, and even surpassed the level of last year, accounting for In 2009, the export volume, quantity and amount of exports were 101.89%, 90.07% and 104.62%.

Among these enterprises, the number of enterprises with export value above US$20 million increased to 14 and their export value was US$490 million, accounting for 16.79% of the total export value.

The export value has reached 90.56 million US dollars in the first three quarters, followed by Juyi Group Co., Ltd., Aokang Group Co., Ltd., Wenzhou Taima Footwear Co., Ltd., and Dongyi Shoes. Co., Ltd., the total value of these five exports reached 271.67 million U.S. dollars.

According to relevant persons from the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Wenzhou shoe exporting countries and regions are also gradually showing a trend of diversification. At present, there are 159 countries and regions where footwear products are exported in Wenzhou. The US market ranked first ranks 15.76% of total exports, followed by Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Ukraine, South Africa, Japan, Spain and France. The markets of these nine countries accounted for 63.55% of the total exports. Among them, the U.S., Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Ukraine, and South Africa all exceeded US$100 million.
