Cause Analysis and Solution of Quenching of Φ120mm Multiphase Ductile Iron Grinding Ball

In this paper, the relationship between the quenching liquid and the cooling rate of the grinding ball during the quenching process of Φ120mm multiphase ductile iron grinding ball is analyzed. It is demonstrated that the reason of the ball breaking under actual working conditions is due to the quenching of the grinding ball during quenching treatment. There is no perfect match between the liquid and the ball cooling rate, and several solutions have been proposed for this problem, aiming to produce high quality grinding balls.
